Locking compression plate for distal femur is a standard implant for distal femoral fractures.
It is very useful implant in some revision cases of proximal femoral fractures as a salvage option. We have used Distal femoral plate of opposite side for Proximal femoral fractures in revision situations and in some primary situations where anatomy was unique.
Its use for Periprosthetic proximal femoral fractures is described in the literature.
We have used in Proximal femoral fractures where standard fixation with Intramedullary or surface implant had failed due to some reasons. Bony defects due the previous implants pose unique problems in osteosynthesis.
This is a strong implant .
Has bow to match the anterior bow of opposite femur.
Can be used in MIPPO approach.
Has many options of inserting screws in proximal femur.
This is the implant not designed for proximal femur. Hence angle of anteversion has to be critically seen in C-arm.
