Diaphysael reconstruction in malignant bone tumors is a challenging subject. Various tumors of diaphysis will be discussed. Resection techniques and various reconstruction methods will be shown including intercalary endoprosthetic devices, nail / plate with cement. Use of each method for humeral diaphysis, femoral diaphysis and tibial diaphysis will be shown. Various indications and methods of biological reconstruction like non-vascularized / Vascularized fibular grafts / Allografts / Composite grafts, distraction osteogenesis will be discussed. Technique of extra-corporeal radiotherapy will be discussed. The paper overviews the advantages and disadvantages of each method of reconstruction and emphasizes the judicious selection of method of reconstruction after diaphyseal resection.
