Abstract

Introduction:

Antibiotics have been one of the most effective arms of modern medicine in improving human survival. However, in the evolutionary arms race between microbes and antimicrobials, the pathogenic bacteria seem to be making steady gains, and the multi-resistant bugs are threatening to make most antimicrobials effective.

In this talk, we discuss in brief the resistant mechanisms involved and  the strategies available to minimize the emergence and spread of multi-drug resistant bacteria.
